So, as many of you know already, I recently learned that Tucker had been feathering his front tyres because his alignment iss pretty bad. Thus, my front tyres weren’t so round as they should be, causing a womp womp womp noise. In preparation of going to OppoMeet, I reduced the front tyres from 40psi to 30psi.
I drove a sustained 60-80mph to Oppomeet. Upon leaving, I noticed the womp noise and the associated vibration was completely gone. From the looks of it, the reduced pressure added a little more contact patch and rounded back out both tyres. The car still needs an alignment, but at least the tyres aren’t trashed like I thought!

So what does the sticker on the driver side door say your tires should be inflated to? Mine says 32psi even though the tires are rated to 50. I also use different pressures for different purposes: drag racing rears - 18; road course slicks - 38; autocross street tires 42; autocross slicks - 34; LSR tall rears - 48; LSR street tires - 44.

29 for the front, 37 for the rear. That said, my current tires are twice as wide as stock, so I pumped them up to 40/40. Unfortunately, it seems my cheapo tires can’t handle the pressure! lol The Kumhos I had the last time around were able to take 50/50.

Set them to what’s on the door and after a couple weeks start tweaking pressures on fronts to taste, then do the same to the rears. Size doesn’t matter that much, its pressures, height, and sidewall stiffness that set bouyance.

Didn’t know how to contact you otherwise, but I remember hearing about your ITT woes. Just a heads up that the government is investigating and if they find ITT guilty of fraud, you could be eligible to get yours relieved. All the details are here. Just figured I should share.
